RARE PAIR OF ANTIQUE 19TH CENTURY CARVED IN HIGH RELIEF WALLS SCONCE PANELS, EACH PANEL DEEPLY CARVED WITH A WISE OLD MAN, A HAND PAINTED LACQUERED TYPE FINISH, THE EYES APPEAR TO BE MADE OF GLASS. EACH MEASURING 51.5 CM IN HEIGHT X 33CM WIDE 5CM THICK..

ON CLOSE INSPECTION I CAN SEE ONE GLASS EYE IS MISSING AND HAS BEEN REPLACED A LONG TIME AGO WITH SOME OLD COTTON WADDING. I THINK IT ADDS TO HIS CHARACTER!! APART FROM THIS CONSIDERING THEIR AGE AND NATURE OF USE THEY ARE IN SOLID STABLE CONDITION. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH I MANAGED TO FIND A SIMILAR PAIR ONLINE WHICH STILL HAVE THEIR SCONCES IN PLACE , THEY ARE PRICED UP VERY HIGH , UNFORTUNATELY MINE DO NOT HAVE THE SCONCES BUT DO HAVE THE WOODEN ATTACHMENTS FOR THEM TO SIT INTO.
